How To Use This Site

Under Product Categories will be a list of physical modalities that are used in treating fibromyalgia.  Physical modality is the physical application of heat, cold, electrical or mechanical devices.

My wife has learned to use various methods and, at times, rotate them or "change them up", to help manage the pain.  It is rare to find one thing that takes care of the fibromyalgia symptoms, so it is best to arm yourself with various helpful things in your survivor kit.

Why fibroASSIST is designed for you

The products on this website are very specific for fibromyalgia sufferers.  With fibromyalgia, the chief complaints are pain and fatigue.  Pain is a very energy consuming business.

My wife, Chris, has learned that usually one thing will not help her with her baseline of pain.  Baseline of pain is the level of fibromyalgia pain you are used to dealing with on a day-to-day basis. On a number scale, one (1) is being the least amount of pain and Ten (10) being the most.  The optimal goal is for it to be Zero (0) (wouldn't that be nice!), or at a level you can function at.  Just as an example, some people try to maintain it at a Two (2) to Three (3) level while others live with it at a Five (5) to Six (6) level, or more.

My wife explains that with a chronic painful condition that many times a person just doesn't realize to ask for help when you are flared-up or have a consistently higher level of pain.  A flare-up is defined as: when the pain is at a higher level for three (3) consecutive days.  Always remember you can contact your doctor at any time.

The products on fibroASSIST.com are to help you with your baseline of pain.  Chris says, for her, she uses different methods because fibromyalgia is not a predicable condition.  What might work one time doesn't mean it will work as well the next time, but it might.  It's best to arm yourself with different things in your arsenal in coping and managing your fibromyalgia pain and fatigue.

This is where fibroASSIST is so unique, because we understand YOU are, too!
